First of all I wanna wish y'all who visits my blog a Happy Chinese New Year. I'm telling you.. I'm looking forward to food and Ang Baos. Haha! Ohhhh.. before i forget.. I just had my family reunion dinner (Steamboat). XDDD It was great spending time together. After Pastor preached about how we grew up from dependent to independent, it added another level of respect to my parents.

I have a new love for PASTA. haha! Because I know how to cook it instant. Muahahaha! Expert at instant wasn't a bad idea too. XP I helped my mum mopped the floor. Mum bought new bedsheets for the family. I gonna tell you.. my room is becoming more and more like IKEA. Haha! Obviously was inspired by them which orignally came from the America area. I alway love to watch TV shows about make over houses. Definately shows from the Americans, never in my life Asia shows. Ha!

Let's grow grow grow.. The amazing thing was it's still Feb. Quickly know it now that we still have at least 10 months to grow. Let's do something.. I don't know.. Listen to sermons, sing P&W songs to God, read books... Do something that helps you spiritually, keep your mind busy lor... Yea man! You have a choice.. make this year a BLAST!




Last week Pastor Lia preached a very powerful sermon on Ethos.

Ethos:

• The thought processes characteristic of a group.
• A emotion of a community
• The fundamental character or spirit of a culture; the distinguishing character or disposition of a community, group or person.

There's no new vision this year after all. Not every year in HOGC needs a new vision. Instead this year is another level higher of previous vision. There's a intangible thing that HOGC have called ethos. (It's somewhat a family thing where we would stand up for each other with fire in our eyes of protection.)

2 Kings 13:14-19

14 Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!”

15 And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows.

16 Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.

What's the ethos of HOGC?
1) We use the church to build people, not people to build the church.

• Which mean making decisions that will benefit people.
• We are going against the flow in the world.
• Pastors love small group meetings because they want to know us better.
  

2) We are authentic, not plastic.
3) We are patient, we can wait.
4) We are team players, not stars.


That's why I love HOGC so much. Where can I go without your presence, closer to you I wanna be~ My soul cries out, for more of you My Lord~ It's awesome to be part of HOGC.


This anime is awesome. I can't wait for season 2 to come. All these teenagers are in a super rich school. Which mean they came from super rich families which made them the rich fellows. They are in a cca called the HOST CLUB. It's awesome! I'm so happy I watched it because I learned something out of it. HAHA! How to be a host and take care of our guest. Obviously cut out the funny romance part and bla bla. Haha! The most important thing was that this club is a family. Though sometimes may seems lame and waste of time, but there's substance in it. I'm watching it again. Yup! Find all the episodes in youtube.

Dear Friends,

I'm gonna talk about my experience in Asia Conference. It started last Wednesday where ushers had to meet up at expo MRT station at 730am. So I had to wake up early but not as fierce as Morning Prayer where I had to take the first MRT train. Met up with Bell to take bus 39 at Yishun interchange, later did we knew that taking bus 969 is faster. When we finally reached expo, Yilin gave us this cool pi le de Usher T-shirt. CHC usher told us that we are doing ET (External Traffic) and bla bla these are our roles. We are all separated and spread to all over the expo hall 1 - 10, but we are in one heart wor. I was stationed at the garden resturant in the morning. IT WAS FANTASTIC! I saw Pastor Kong, Pastor Tan, Pastor Aries, Pastor Abraham, Pastor Troy Marshall, Brother Poh, Alison Yap, Annabel Soh, Pastor How, Pastor Lia, Charleston, Dominic, Garette and many other Great man of God who walked passed me... can you imagine? (shy smiling) haha!

Then the electives I was station at Hall 3 outside V rooms with Wan Chao. We were like the directory; directing people to their destination. It was a long day, we ushers had to stand throughout morning till 11pm. When the electives started, there about 1hr plus free time. Yong Siang and me walked around outside elective rooms. Then Pastor How de elective 'Effective EV' was the loudest among all the electives. Pastor preached strongly and powerfully. Unfortunately I wasn't ushering near the service on that night, I was at Foryer 2. (T.T) So that was Wednesday, I don't have the tag until 4pm because it's with Swee. I felt abit out-casted in the morning but at least I wore the usher T-shirt which thousands of people wanted to get them.

I had UT (Understanding Test) on thursday so I didn't Usher in the morning. But the thing was that I didn't attend the test; I was late. (Shake head) Then I went to expo with Bell after school. We reached 630pm and JianMing said by this time don't have to le. In the end, Bell and me follow the anxious crowd to the overflow room at Hall 10 and we sat together with Mattheaus, Grace and ChiWen. It was Pastor Ulk service that night. Pastor Ulk is Pastor Kong's pastor. He preached like he memorized his sermon, totally flow with the Holy Spirit. He talked fast and had interesting testimonies. The atmosphere he creates is mostly Faith. Pastor Kong creates de is mostly Hope. Pastor How is mostly Love. Quite true arh I think. I was sad that I didn't get the chance to usher on thursday night.

HA! A brand new friday and Bell and me still took bus 39 because we didn't realize yet. I had two Usher T-shirt lei. (happy smiling) I was wearing the second one. This time although we are brief about our roles on where to station but in the end we are switched around to where they need helped the most. It's flexible and it's called team-work. What I did was doing Internal traffic in Hall 8 directing the flow at the entrance. It was fun, ushers stationed there needs to be alert, knowing where the flow need to go. There are 3 ways to flow the crowd. So we need to be alert to the usher in-charge. It's super exciting, tough and quite demanding also. We need to be firm wor but cannot be forceful to go to the direction we need them to. Then don't know what happened at night, I'm stationed at the zebra crossing. I tell you that to be station there was SO BORING. That place not happening one, I was brief that while the traffic police stop the cars, we ushers help control the crowd. It sounds like an important role but it's not. Because there are enough traffic police already. I stood there with heavy eyes, wobby feet. Once I almost fall off just by standing. What's most important was that I didn't complain but I need to do something about it because usher suppose to greet the crowd with a smile. But I was the opposite of it, I did not did it on purpose that's why I need to figure something out. So I prayed and God send Alicia. YAY!!! God is good.

Alicia, a late usher wanting to find Yilin so that she can report for duty with valid reason came to me for help. So I brought her to find Yilin for two reasons.. 1.) It's to help her because I understand the feeling of lost sheep. 2.) An excuse to leave that boring place and go to somewhere happening. Eventually when Alicia found Yilin, Yilin immediately station me outside Hall 10 because they need help. (Me in the background shouting 'YES!YAY!') My role at Hall 10 was to control the crowd and usher them in the Hall. These people quened up from outside Hall 8 onwards to outside Hall 10, the quene would extend to the road if they continue quening. The solution was to put them in Hall 10 which was the overflow room, then usher row by row o Hall 8. (That was the initial plan) The crowd thought they are going Hall 8 but now like going overflow. As a result, we need to explain to them the plan that they were temporary put in Hall 10. The confusing thing was that 7pm, they crowd is still seated at Hall 10. Then suddenly the news spreaded saying that Hall 8 is full, packed. The whole crowd super angry. Smart one chiong all the way to the front to chop seats. What I'm trying to say was that it's chaotic. At that point of time, Ranford and me didn't know what to do. As a result, we tried usher people and I saw Nigel. NIGEL!!! my best best friend. I wasn't worried anymore because he's planted in CHC. One of the CHC magazine, he and his mum was featured. WOW! Finally everything was over and home sweet home.

Heart of God Church us didn't attend Saturday Service. I heard that it was 10 times more chaotic than Friday. I never really intend to go anyway because knowing it would be super packed. So we had our combined service and C3 worship band came to lead worship. It was an ignited moment to remember. That night the presence of God was so strong that everyone started tearing. Dr A.R Bernard Son was in our combine service as well. Matthaeus and I had a talked in school yesterday saying that they sent their sons to our church. Next time is their second man who will be coming, then they themselves will come. Awesome right? I was on livefeed on Saturday doing cam5 and it was stressful. Finally the day is over and I prayed to God that I won't be on duty the following week because I need REST on weekends!!! That night most of the Yishun people set timing 6am at Yishun to take 969 together.

Sunday early morning Bell and me reached the bus-stop and Chan Pei Shan gave a comment, "Wa! Your become smart already arh?" (Pls lor... Don't touch my water crystals k) We took 858 instead and we reached expo at 720am. This time round our role is internal traffic. WooHOO! All of us are in Hall 8 finally. We witness 6 Pastors, including Pastor How ordan as Rev. and 4 became Pastors. All of them kneel down on their knees and Pastor Phringle prayed for all of them. Once again, an ignited moment. (I can't believe Matthaeus missed all these) Anyway, Bell and me and others are stationed at the entrance in the auditorium. We are the ones who will be controlling the flow of the people. Super happening I tell you. Bad thing was that even though morning prayer started, there's still alot of late comers. (Cannot arh! If you are in our church, confirm kana discipleship.) Then after that we went to logistic area to have our lunch. Noni later grabbed me and Gabriel to external Traffic because they need human chain formatt. (I don't want ET... Hao bu rong yi in Hall 8 de. I need to do something about it.) Later the human chain was replaced by some metal fencing thing. Which mean there will be some ushers free and don;t know what to do. Since they are doing ET, I grabbed one of them to replace me and Gabriel. After that Gabriel and me hurried back to Hall 8 to see if they need any help.

In the afternoon, we were still station the same place in Hall 8. Just that now this Hall became an overflow room for the service happening in Hall 7. You know what happened? I kana scolded by a man where 5 of them don't want to move out of the auditorium and said I'm the 5th usher to ask them to leave, also said that they queued up so long bla bla bla crap crap crap. (I was thinking: are you a Christian?) That person can't talk nicely de lor. I wanted to agrue back but I didn't. Thank God for that decision. So I ignored them and walked away, feel like giving that guy one tight slap on his cheek. Doing the same thing for the night service but it wasn't tiring at all. Still have enough strength to last throughout the day. Service started and since Bell and me had nothing to do already, one usher grabbed us to fill up some seats at the corner. We got the chance to enjoy the service, listening to Lui Ge Hong and JJ sang songs. I wasn't a fan of them but their song surely is anointed. It was then I started feeling sleepy during preaching. So Bell and I went to logistic area to look for food. Haha! At this time, usher no need do anything already. So we stayed around tunnel 3 area and listen attentively to Dr A.R Bernard. The last part was the best. They end everything with 'love'; everyone of us shoulder upon shoulder swaying left and right. So loving! Talking about saving the best for the last. Finale ended with a blast of long golden ribbons, boom of papers and ballons falling from above. The sceneary was amazing.

To summarize the whole thing, I felt closer to Pastor Kong and Sun. Both of them are simply amazing. Like what Dr A.R Bernard preached:
- OT (Old testament) is the theology of place
- NT (New Testament) is the theology of people
- Both becomes a Transformation.
God never intended us to choose one of them. So we are living in a NT. Pastor Kong and Sun's lives are transformed by the power of God. Now they are changing the world (theology of place). Because of that, they are now impacting all levels of society and culture. That's deserves a big WOW. They are changing lives one by one and impacting the world. That's the kind of purposeful and meaningful life I wanna live.

Last week was a blast! Alot of new friends and service was very powerful. Pastor Kong ministered to us and brought the whole church to a whole new level. I believe he was ministered too. He said that he love us alot. Wow!!! Last week was the fiercest of the year... I had morning prayer, school in the afternoon and then Nick Vujicic at night. Since monday, I had chiong 7 days non-stop(Most of us). It was radical and crazy. It was a stretch and I felt I grew to a whole new level. By friday, I crashed. HAha!!! It was funny.. Couldn't take it any more, too sleepy. To think about it again, I loved the feeling of how we chiong and run. It's like ending a composition, 'At the end of the day, everyone's tired but very happy.' Obviously that's not the end. December is gonna be even more exciting. I really can't wait. WOOOOOOOooo I can't contain my joy.. I mean how to express it out physically???!! Also alot of things I've planned to do. A project I would say that helps us to plan our life. XD And we really mean it when we say the future is gonna be amazing. I can't live without Jesus!! Thanks to Heart Of God Church, Pastors and Leaders... if not I will not be who I am today.

Well... Everyday's a new day. We may not know what's gonna happened tmr, might as well make today the best out of it. Wahahahaha!!! Was in school early, 15minutes early. It's a miracle! School was boring as usual and won't really talked about it. Nothing spectacular actually. But later I will be going to Dhoby to play DDR. WOOHOO!!! THAT"S RIGHT... DDR!!! I have been waiting till this very day. WAAAA!!!! Confirm took pictures and will post them tmrXD

A whole new class worr.. Hmm.. adapt pretty well! Let's talk about my class. The environment is definitely better because the more higher you are, the more fresh air. haha lame! The class are quite well bonded, we laugh at each other and crapping the whole day. It's only been less than two weeks and this the result. Not bad! But I'm very happy and I thank God I'm in W16H. Who am I to judge the classroom with the feeling of whether I like it or not even?!?! The best part was that I am myself. Yea! My classmates all very quai de wor.. They all ACT innocent one, including me.. wahaha! I haven unleash the monster that within me. Even if I do, the class may not have the capcity to withold such power. It's so powerful that all the animals flee thousands of miles away. Mosqitos in the class had to surrender itself. Before u even know it, you can just close ur eyes and sleep. Nights


Yesterday was Soo Yee birthday. Oh yea!! And we celebrated in MPR2. The situation and everything was super funny. Then after that we went down to play captain's ball with all the Receptionist and the Livefeedionist. Although it was all random thing but we are FAMILY.. the song keep playing in my mind.. wadeva!!! Then went to have supper with Alton, SiHui, SuSian, Desiree, Shermaine, Fedora, Gina and one more guy.. arrhh.. i forgot.. =p All of us are not in the same CG but we are FAMILY.. that's right man.. I so in love in hanging with different groups of godly friends. Then we went to Toast Box and eat again.. haha!!! Then went home.. wahahaha!!! Spending time day worrzzxx..





Holiday just started and it's been like the 3rd day nia. I already started to miss my class. Our class bonded well; we sing, laugh, shout, dance, do crazy things.. But don't expect a perfect class worr, I'm really happy to have a class like this. I can remember clearly the first day of school.

Last Week's FOP was awesome. Even better it's when I'm on usher that day. Thanks to BMT, I had the privilege to usher. Wahaha!!! Throughout the service, I constantly tell myself not to be concern on my section only. Then I keep reminding myself on what God spoke to Pastor How, "If you cannot be faithful in what is another men's, how can I give what you want?" something like that. I've learned how to move fast, flexible to go wherever the Usher Ministry needs me to be.

What's your source of inspiration? (or shall I say who!!!)
I was reading Fear of the Lord and the funny thing was that I can't relate the source of inspiration until I relate it with the world. Let me explain.. To reach out to the lost, you simply copy paste what the world is using to reach out. Using a worldly song and just barely changing the lyrics to reach out. Soon you will realize the world is your inspiration. Eventually you will be puzzled why people's lives don't get changed but remains a lukewarm church goers. Bible calls disciples Christians, not church goers. I was taken aback for a moment while I was on the bus to school.

There's so many barriers to be broken in our lives. The amazing thing was that you didn't even know you had a barrier. Another level in humbling myself...

Trying to think about something cool to blog about.. hmmmm..

Wake up this morning and realise I got test today. lol.. Yesterday night still got UT reminder from Matthaeus somemore. In the end I was late for test and I manage to finish because some I don't know how to do. Haha!!! Today's modeule is about cell membrane. Super easy to research about. So was quite slack today about school. I found my ear piece and it's working... soo happi..

Upon given task to do, I'm scared that I don't have the capacity to hold it. I'm so dying for growth in the house of God yet I'm afraid that I can't handle the tasks at hand which is more. There's always room for growth and we need to grow ourselves as well to suit for the growth to come. Wad I did was that I came out of my tent just like Abraham did and count the stars. I thank God for the things that I'm doing in chucrh, the things that He's about to accomplished..etc Akuna Matata.. it's means no worries.. Akuna Matata.. wad a wonderful phrase... wif Jesus around..

Then we drink bubble tea while waiting for him. Talk crap and play game at his house. Slack at his house lorrr... hahaha.. His room is cosy and nice. All of us are all over his room; on the floor, on the bed. Ha! hahaha

Hi my name is Jonathan. I'm a very fun person to be with. I love Heart Of God Church, especially the presence of God. I was once lost, but now I'm found. Thank God and I know it's no accident that I'm in Heart Of God Church. Which tells me that we are not accidents. There's is something more... Jesus has given me a new perspective, added dimension to this world. I was born again. Life is so meaningful now. No longer I who live but Christ lives in me. What's more to complain when we're serving the Kings of Kings. I don't think I would exchange my life with anybody. I love my life.
